Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering with 2–5 years of field experience.
  • Experience designing and servicing control systems for switchgear, substations, metering, and SCADA/integration-automation equipment installation and testing.
  • Experience with electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS), startup, configuration and calibration.
  • Proficiency in reading electrical and control schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing and developing SCADA and automation projects with design documents.
  • Develop subsystem designs including CAD layouts, panel wiring, SCADA screens, hardware and communications.
  • Program, configure, and troubleshoot controllers, PLCs, RTUs, and HMI systems.
  • Site surveys, tests, and commissioning of integrated systems.

Responsibilities
  • Assist senior engineers in designing and developing SCADA and automation projects, including the creation and review of design documents and system narratives.
  • Perform requirements analysis and develop subsystem designs, including CAD layouts, panel wiring, SCADA screens, hardware, and communications.
  • Review and comment on third-party design documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Program, configure, and troubleshoot controllers, PLCs, RTUs, and HMI systems.
  • Assist in the creation and execution of testing and commissioning procedures for integrated systems, including factory and field testing.
  • Prepare test reports and originate test procedures for deployed systems.
  • Commission and maintain deployed systems, including troubleshooting, hardware/software upgrades, and replacements.
  • Support cost estimation and project scope review in collaboration with senior engineers and stakeholders.
  • Conduct site surveys, inspections, and tours as required for project planning and execution.
  • Assist in evaluating and pricing change orders from vendors.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering with 2-5 years of field experience, or associate degree with an additional 3 years of experience, or high school diploma with an additional 5 years of experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience designing and servicing control systems for switchgear, substations, metering, and SCADA/integration-automation equipment installation and testing.
  • Experience with electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS), including startup, configuration, and calibration.
  • Proficiency in reading electrical and control schematics.
  • Experience testing and troubleshooting control and protection systems.
  • Familiarity with 3-phase power systems, power system protection and control schemes, and related test equipment/software.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical and hand tools, as well as testing and calibration equipment.
  • Experience with OT and IT networking technologies, troubleshooting, and diagnosing network protocols.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAE software (such as Visio, AutoCAD) and schedule management software (such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6).
  • Proficiency with standard office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, etc.).
  • Certification in one or more PLC/automation platforms (e.g., Niagara N4, Schneider Power Monitoring, Rockwell, Siemens, JCI, Eaton Foreseer) and/or SCADA platforms (e.g., Iconics, Ignition, Aveva) required.
  • Preferred: Design Build Institute of America (DBIA), Certified SCADA Security Architect (CSSA), or Certified Automation Professional (CAP) certifications.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% for out-of-town assignments.
