Job summary

CGP Data Center and Cloud Solutions seeks a Controls Engineer in Houston, TX to design, install and maintain power monitoring and control systems for data centers. You will work on BAS/EPMS, PLCs, RTUs and SCADA/HMI, collaborating with electrical and field teams.

The role requires 5–7 years of related experience, a degree in electrical engineering or equivalent, and strong CAD/SCADA tooling skills. Travel is around 25% to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with 5–7 years field experience.
• Associate degree in electrical field with 10 years field experience.
• High school diploma with 15 years field experience.
• 5 years’ experience designing and servicing controls systems for switchgear, substations, metering and SCADA/Fault Data/SER/Integration-Automation equipment.
• Experience reading electrical and control schematics.
• Experience in electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS) startup, configuration, and calibration.
• Experience testing, troubleshooting control and protection systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform requirements analysis
• Create Subsystem Designs (CAD / Panels / Layouts / Wiring / SCADA Screens / Hardware / Communications)
• Review 3rd party design documents for SCADA/Automation projects; assist in scope gap analysis
• Program / configure / troubleshoot Controllers, PLCs, RTUs, and/or HMI systems
• Assist in testing and commissioning procedures; prepare test reports
• Maintenance: troubleshoot on service calls and upgrades on existing systems
