Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Critical Infrastructure Controls Engineer for AWS data centers in the United States.

You will own the engineering lifecycle for controls, analyzing incidents, developing templates, and ensuring reliability across facilities. The role requires collaboration with Data Center Operations, Design Engineering, and Partner Controls teams to drive improvements and standardization.

Qualifications

• Experience reading and editing construction documents (design drawings, control diagrams, specifications, etc.)
• Bachelor’s degree in Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent technical degree or experience.
• 2+ cumulative years of controls experience with industrial, municipal, or commercial engineering including but not limited to the following sectors: data centers, power generation, oil/gas facilities
• Must have a valid US driver’s license and reliable personal transportation by start date.

Responsibilities

• Lead post-event engineering analysis for controls-related incidents and identify corrective actions.
• Develop, review, and maintain controls logic and templates for equipment across AHUs, chillers, pumps and power systems.
• Own the full engineering lifecycle for pilots from intake to rollout.
• Serve as escalation point for complex controls issues, travel to facilities as needed.
• Provide engineering support for proprietary and third-party controls products and drive fixes.
• Build and maintain test scripts, alarms, setpoints, and code libraries.
• Develop standards and metrics to improve control reliability across portfolios.
• Collaborate with operations, Design Eng, PMs, and partner teams to resolve issues.
