Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a Data Center Controls Engineer to design, implement, and optimize automation across electrical power and HVAC systems in its data center infrastructure. The role emphasizes specification authorship, cross-domain leadership, and DCIS integration using MQTT and Ignition.

You will supervise commissioning, troubleshoot issues, and mentor operations staff, ensuring high reliability and performance of critical facilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering field.
5+ years in data center or mission-critical control systems.
Experience with electrical power and mechanical/HVAC control.
Proficiency in IEC 61131-3 programming and DDC/PLC work.
Familiar with DCIS, MQTT, Ignition or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

Design and implement data center automation and control systems for electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
Write and maintain control system specifications and sequences of operations.
Program and oversee PLCs, PACs, and DDC controllers; guide third-party vendors as needed.
Integrate electrical and mechanical data into DCIS and Ignition environment over MQTT.
Provide commissioning oversight and troubleshooting to ensure reliability.
