Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Controls Design Engineer to drive standardization of data center control designs and advance power monitoring across global facilities. You will collaborate with senior electrical engineers to solve complex control challenges and ensure reliable, scalable power systems in production data centers.

Qualifications

• 4 years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment experience
• 3 years of experience with electrical diagrams, single line diagrams, and electrical distribution systems
• 3 years of experience working with industrial controls systems
• Experience with power monitoring and SCADA systems
• Experience with Modbus and industrial communication protocols

Responsibilities

• Produce clear documentation such as detailed design specifications, drawings, white papers, wiring schematics and diagrams, and reports.
• Safeguard the Global Controls Basis of Design by driving standardization in data center controls designs.
• Development of strategic solutions, which meet or exceed our quality requirements and fall within our budgetary requirements. Capture requirements and turn aspirational company or customer goals into well-defined, achievable and testable specifications and solutions.
• Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests prior to, and during innovation and research and development projects.
• Work with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify the appropriate electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions.
