Job summary

Prime Data Centers in Denver seeks a Controls Engineer to lead controls design for data center projects, including new builds, expansions, retrofits, and upgrades. You will draft BAS/BMS/EPMS/DCIM design standards and coordinate with Construction, Procurement, and Operations to ensure high-quality outcomes.

The role requires developing specifications, validating drawings, and ensuring secure network connectivity with IT.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or equivalent
• 3+ years in building design and construction with controls focus
• Experience with Tridium Niagara 4 and BMS/EPMS systems
• Proficient in drafting/maintaining engineering standards for controls
• Knowledge of data center cooling and power implications
• Familiarity with ASHRAE/IBC/IMC standards

Responsibilities

• Draft and maintain controls standards for BAS/BMS/EPMS/DCIM
• Develop specs, RFPs, and sequences of operation for control systems
• Lead Niagara 4 standards across projects for consistency
• Validate consultant/contractor deliverables for design conformity
• Coordinate with IT for secure network connectivity and segmentation
• Support procurement, installation, and commissioning of control systems
• Ensure designs meet cost, performance, and sustainability goals
• Review energy modeling data and contribute to value engineering
• Represent controls in design meetings with clients and partners
