Job summary

Amazon in Herndon, VA is hiring for a controls engineer to innovate, deploy, and maintain BMS and EPMS across AWS data centers. You will work within a global controls team, emphasizing safety, cost efficiency, and reliability.

You will lead design reviews, project scoping, vendor coordination, and on-site supervision while advancing technical skills across multiple automation platforms.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of vendor management experience.
• 4+ years in a data center or critical environment.
• 5+ years of data center engineering or operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; related field.
• Electrical or mechanical licenses (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform RCA or CA for Control Systems in AWS data centers.
• Manage BMS and EPMS scope in operational data centers.
• Train internal customers on BMS/EPMS installation and operation.
• Provide technical support during data center life cycle.
• Lead quarterly maintenance and vendor management for BMS/EPMS.
• Review mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings and BOMs.
• Develop and modify controls logic programming and GUI.
• Oversee project timelines, scope, and budgets.
