Job summary

Jacobs in Baton Rouge is seeking a CSA Construction Technical Services Specialist Lead to oversee on-site technical support for data center construction projects. You will liaise with home office engineering, clients, and outside firms, manage document control, and lead the change management process to ensure compliant drawings and specs.

The role requires deep Civil/Structural/Architectural engineering experience or extensive construction management expertise in heavy-industrial facilities,

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Civil/Structural/Architectural engineering or 15-20 years in construction management for heavy-industrial facilities including life sciences and datacenters.
• Understanding of construction-oriented means, methods, codes, and standards.
• Experience interpreting home office engineering documents for construction purposes.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience, including certified technical training.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Ability to read and understand Civil/Structural/Architectural drawings.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with home office engineering, outside engineering firms, and client representatives.
• Provide on-site technical support interpreting engineering documents and drawings, input to change management.
• Engage in permitting processes with AHJs.
• Work with Design-Build contractors once fielded.
• Oversee document control leading to revision-controlled drawings and key submissions.
• Lead construction document management and coordinate with subcontractors.
• Respond to specification deviation requests within the project deviation process.
• Collaborate with Field Quality, contractor and Home Office Engineering to resolve NCRs.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the team.
