Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to support our data center project in Baton Rouge, LA. As a Data Center Sr Construction Manager, you will lead pre-construction and construction, review contractor performance, and coordinate with Owners and Jacobs management to ensure safety, schedule and quality.

The role requires 12+ years of large-building or civil project experience, a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management, and data center project experience.

Qualifications

• At least 12 years of experience on large building or civil projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or equivalent.
• Experience leading a Data Center project team and managing subcontractors/vendors.
• Data Center and/or Data Center upfits experience.
• Knowledge of 120VAC electrical tie-ins, instrumentation, controls wiring, fiber terminations and network cabling.
• Knowledge of NFPA70E.
• Strong scheduling (critical path) and commissioning planning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, schedules.
• Experience with BIM, Lean principles or related technologies.
• OSHA 30 or willingness to obtain within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Implement Jacobs Beyond-Zero safety culture.
• Conduct constructability reviews and pre-construction planning for safety, cost, and schedule.
• Develop and implement construction schedules.
• Plan commissioning and micro-scheduling.
• Lead Data Center projects with TIC of $10M+ and manage teams of 5+.
• Lead contractor meetings to drive safety, schedule, cost and change management.
• Review contractor/subcontractor/vendor execution plans and monitor progress daily.
• Interact with Owners and Jacobs management with detailed reporting.
• Assist in change order reviews and invoicing processes.
• Support IAP schedule sequence development and continuous improvement.
