Job summary

Upchurch is a rapidly growing building engineering company seeking a General Superintendent to oversee field operations on large-scale data center projects. You will lead Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors and craft personnel, ensuring safety, schedule, and quality from startup to turnover.

The role requires at least 10 years in commercial/industrial construction, with 5+ years in senior supervisory roles; experience with data centers, semiconductors, healthcare, or advanced manufacturing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of commercial or industrial construction experience.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Superintendent, Senior Superintendent, or General Superintendent.
• Extensive experience delivering mission-critical, data center, industrial, semiconductor, healthcare, or advanced manufacturing projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for field operations on data center projects.
• Mentor field teams to ensure safe, productive execution.
• Develop construction execution plans aligned with schedules.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, and design teams.
• Lead planning meetings to meet project objectives.
• Drive schedule performance and recovery plans when needed.
• Ensure resources are planned and allocated across phases.
• Oversee subcontractor performance and quality.
• Promote OSHA-compliant safety culture on site.
• Conduct regular site walks to monitor progress and identify risks.
• Prepare project updates for executive leadership.
