Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Mesa, AZ seeks a Data Center Construction Manager to lead electrical and mechanical data-center projects, driving cost, schedule, and quality on site.

You will interface with general contractors, manage design reviews, procurement, and field teams, delivering resilient, scalable infrastructure for AWS customers. Strong leadership and vendor management across multiple teams are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience carrying new design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production.
• Experience in MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems.
• Experience with power management and power monitoring systems.
• Experience constructing electrical engineering systems including large scale power distribution/generation gear and mechanical engineering systems including cooling systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct interface with construction general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and closeout phases.
• Negotiate with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals with detail and accuracy.
• Create construction project scope and request for proposals.
• Financial analysis of construction.
• Project management for initiatives increasing data center resiliency.
• Constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs for data centers.
• Document management including submittal review, RFIs, change orders, invoicing.
• Project quality control and reporting key construction metrics.
• Drive teams to troubleshoot and perform root-cause analyses on equipment failures.
• Lead the group and coordinate with internal and external teams supporting data centers.
