Job summary

Meta is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our Data Center Design, Engineering & Construction team. You will oversee construction, commissioning, and turnover of data centers within campus programs, manage budgets and schedules, and partner with GC/vendors to drive cost savings and risk mitigation.

The role requires 12+ years in construction management, broad knowledge of civil/electrical/mechanical systems, and strong negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent.
• 12+ years of experience in construction management.
• Multi-project experience in large scale construction, mission critical or data centers.
• Knowledge of civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Capital budget management and contract administration.
• Negotiation skills with problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Manage the construction, commissioning, and turnover of a Data Center within a campus program.
• Manage the budget associated with the project.
• Manage the cost change process and negotiate best pricing.
• Manage the schedule and associated risks for reliable turnover dates.
• Manage warranty and tenant improvement work in live environments.
• Communicate upward regarding status and risks.
• Negotiate vendor and contractor contracts and purchase orders as needed.
• Mitigate risk for the project through pre-planning and partnership.
• Develop cost savings solutions and identify underruns early.
• Partner with GC and vendors to build collaborative relationships.
• Partner with internal cross-functional partners.
• Coordinate needs with Procurement/Sourcing groups.
• Support pre-construction efforts and promote prefabrication.
• Support development of Capital Project Budgets and ROMs.
• Support Campus Construction Manager with campus-wide book of work.
• Support on-site inspection to ensure zero punch-list and expeditious turnover to FacOps.
• 10% travel to headquarters and other Meta sites.
• Respond to emergencies as needed.
