Job summary

QTS Data Centers in the United States is seeking a Commissioning Engineer II to leadLevel 1-5 commissioning of base building systems in data center environments. The role involves overseeing testing, documenting results, and coordinating with the project team on delivery and compliance.

You will travel up to 75% to other sites, develop commissioning plans, witness tests, and train end-users and maintenance personnel, while ensuring safety and regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Five+ years of data center engineering, commissioning, project management, or equivalent.
• Background in CCTV, Access control, network, telecommunications, or fire detection/suppression systems.
• Ability to travel to other Data Center locations as required.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• U.S. Citizenship required due to federal contracts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in site construction activity and installations with Development Team and contractors.
• Develop commissioning plans for levels 1–5 systems across electrical, mechanical, and BAS.
• Conduct commissioning activities ensuring installation and validation per standards.
• Identify and resolve issues during commissioning with project team.
• Create and review commissioning documentation and test procedures.
• Witness equipment testing and validate SOP sequences.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless system integration.
• Implement quality control and regulatory compliance.
• Develop SOP/MOP/ERP with facilities operations.
• Provide training to end-users and maintenance personnel.
