Job summary

QTS Data Centers is seeking a Commissioning Engineer II to lead Level 1–5 commissioning across building systems in data center environments. You will oversee testing, validation, and documentation, coordinating with design engineers, project managers, contractors, and facilities teams.

Occasional nights/weekends may be required. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 5+ years in data centers, and willingness to travel up to 75% to other sites across the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CM/PM/CS or related field.
• 5+ years of work experience in data center engineering, commissioning or project management.
• Background in CCTV, access control, network, telecom or fire detection/suppression.
• Willingness to travel to other data centers as required.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist in site construction activity and installations with the Development Team.
• Develop comprehensive commissioning plans for multiple levels (1–5).
• Conduct commissioning activities ensuring adherence to standards and client specs.
• Identify and resolve issues during commissioning with the project team.
• Create and review commissioning documentation and test procedures.
• Witness testing and validate sequences of operations and docs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Implement quality control and regulatory compliance.
• Develop SOPs, MOPs, ERP in coordination with facilities operations.
• Provide end-user training on commissioned systems.
