Job summary

PCL Construction Services, Inc. is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to support our national data center business unit. You will coordinate on-site startup activities, develop schedules, and ensure testing aligns with design intent and contract requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Control Systems Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 3+ years of startup and commissioning experience in industrial or water/wastewater systems.
• Strong knowledge of Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) and Systems Integration.
• Proficiency in project planning and scheduling, including look ahead tools and commissioning tracking systems.
• Solid understanding of construction processes, project coordination, and risk management.
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with commissioning software tools and reporting platforms.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform on-site startup and commissioning activities for assigned systems and subsystems.
• Develop, maintain, and update the commissioning schedule and rolling look ahead plan to align with project milestones and resource priorities.
• Review and control component and system test documentation, ensuring compliance with design intent and contract requirements.
• Provide technical support during installation, startup, and functional testing phases, identifying and resolving issues in real time.
• Collaborate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure commissioning readiness and system handover.
• Track progress and proactively communicate schedule impacts, risks, and mitigation plans.
• Ensure all required documentation, test forms, and turnover packages are completed accurately and submitted on time.
• Support Commissioning Manager in maintaining project status reporting and stakeholder coordination.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and collaboration on site.
