Job summary

PCL Construction Services, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to lead startup and commissioning activities for industrial and data center projects.

You will develop schedules, review tests, and support handover to operations while traveling to project sites as needed. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Control Systems Engineering and strong I&C knowledge, with excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Control Systems Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 3+ years startup and commissioning experience in industrial or water/wastewater systems.
• Strong knowledge of Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) and Systems Integration.
• Proficiency with scheduling and commissioning tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform on-site startup and commissioning activities for assigned systems and subsystems.
• Develop, maintain, and update the commissioning schedule and rolling look ahead plan.
• Review and control component and system test documentation for design intent and contract requirements.
• Provide technical support during installation, startup, and testing phases.
• Collaborate with engineering, construction, and operations teams for readiness and handover.
• Track progress and communicate schedule impacts and mitigation plans.
• Ensure all documentation and turnover packages are completed on time.
• Support Commissioning Manager with project status reporting.
• Promote safety, quality, and collaboration on site.
