Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Cluster Operations Leader to oversee data center clusters and colocation operations. You will lead senior infrastructure operations across DCO and DCEO, driving safety, availability, scaling, and cost efficiency while shaping global programs and partnerships.

The role requires 10+ years in data center operations management, strong communication, and the ability to manage distributed teams, with a focus on innovative, world-class operational performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of management experience in data centers or critical environment facilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to hire and develop geographically distributed teams.
• Experience with Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Hire, manage, and develop the operations team, including compute and engineering operations managers, and their teams
• Achieve organizational performance goals for safety, security, availability, scaling, efficiency, and cost
• Plan and execute Infrastructure Operations for new Data Centers and Colocation expansions
• Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, and controls systems in Amazon Data Centers, including preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and change management
• Manage Colocation Data Centers service providers to meet or exceed contracted performance SLAs
• Lead safety, security, and availability incident response, management, and resolution
• Improve operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools continuously
