Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Herndon, VA is seeking a Civil Designer to design integrated 3D site models for data centre campuses using Civil 3D, coordinating with BIM teams and external vendors.

You will produce Civil drawings, support campus grading and drainage, site utilities, pavement, and building tie-ins, while traveling to data centre sites once or twice per year and collaborating across disciplines to meet design quality and efficiency goals.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering experience in civil or BIM design.
• Experience with Civil 3D for site/campus layouts and drawings.
• Ability to coordinate with Revit-based models and building designs.
• Working knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design Civil infrastructure for data centre sites using Civil 3D.
• Prepare and maintain detailed Civil 3D models and site layouts.
• Publish construction documentation for site and campus designs.
• Create and maintain regional/global CAD templates and ensure QA.
• Coordinate with other trades and manage design changes.
• Travel to data centre sites for evaluations and surveys (1–2 trips/yr).
