Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Digital Design Specialist in Chicago, IL. The role focuses on Site Civil design, BIM coordination, and 3D modeling for data center projects, with opportunities across corporate, healthcare, education, and municipal markets.

The candidate should have a technical degree or 3 years of related experience, proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and strong communication skills to collaborate with engineers and CAD staff across teams.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or at least 3 years related industry experience.
• Proficiency with 3D design software and document management infrastructure.
• Excellent communication skills and organizational traits.
• Experience with 3D Coordination tools and BIM workflows.

Responsibilities

• Work for the Site Civil discipline under the supervision of an Engineer or other technical professional.
• Model BIM elements and generate BIM output per the Digital Delivery Plan and project scope.
• Coordinate the design with other discipline models during design reviews and 3D coordination.
• Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, and diagrams using current 3D software.
• Maintain project information, scales, and sheets within the discipline model.
