Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Frederick, MD, is seeking a Data Center Chief Engineer who will oversee electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment in the data center to ensure peak performance and uptime.

The role involves leading maintenance, emergency response, and coordination with vendors and Engineering Operations Technicians to deliver safe, reliable operations for AWSs global infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance experience.
• Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings.
• 3+ years of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary escalation point for all facilities-related issues and oversee routine and emergency services on critical systems.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures and troubleshoot facility within SLAs.
• Provide training to Engineering Operations Technicians and collaborate with Facility Manager to shape team culture.
• Create and deploy new standard practices for Engineering Operations Technicians and vendor support teams.
• Assist in building out new facilities and projects to improve efficiency.
