Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a contract, onsite Cable Technician in Social Circle, GA to support data center wiring and cabling projects. You will lay out, install, terminate and test structured cabling including Cat6/Cat5, racks and patch panels in data center closets.

The role requires experience with blueprints, color codes, and tool proficiency. Work hours are Monday–Friday, 6am–5pm, with benefits and a focus on safe, quality installations.

Qualifications

• Must possess and be proficient with the listed tools.
• Must have proven skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents.
• Must know the universal communications color codes.

Responsibilities

• Layout and install wireway, buss duct, cable tray, switches receptacles and other devices.
• Build closets (mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware).
• Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required.
• Complete all IDC connections (e.g. terminate 110/66 blocks and patch panels).
• Work inside and outside buildings to build data center infrastructure.
• Operate and direct wire pulling and conduit installations.
• Use tools such as cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jackhammers.
