Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Technician II to install and decommission network and cabling in a Charlotte data center. You will pull and terminate copper and fiber, splice cables, troubleshoot circuits, and document work while following safety and quality standards.

You will work with stakeholders to ensure project progress, maintain clean Data Center spaces, and read blueprints to support scalable, reliable infrastructure. This role emphasizes hands-on workmanship and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and use of basic telecom hand tools.
• Accept responsibility of outcome of work performed.
• Must understand customer service.
• Clear understanding of job safety requirements.
• Be able to read and understand job floor plan.
• Should be familiar on wiring schemes and wiring testing.
• Should be able to pull all types of low voltage cable.
• Should understand and be capable in performing field terminations and labeling.
• Capable of maintaining orderly paperwork, capable of running midsize projects and service jobs.
• Possess skill to layout MDF and IDF closets, be able to dress all types of cable and perform all types of terminations.
• Capable of working in Data Centers.
• Shall be able to work on analog, DSL and be able to extend T1 lines.
• Be able to patch network equipment.
• Basic understanding of both copper and fiber cable testing and troubleshooting.
• Troubleshooting of copper and fiber cables
• Work on analog lines and extend T1 connections
• Possess skills to layout MDF and IDF closets
• Direct/supervise others to perform tasks
• Decommission fiber trunks and jumpers
• Troubleshoot fiber circuits (Versiv OLTS, OTDR)
• Perform fiber splicing (OSP, ISP, SM, MM)
• Conduct and supervise Service Swaps
• Perform multiple pair copper splicing.
• Follow infrastructure design and install

• Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes with a focus on improvement.
• Provide structured feedback on project progress to stakeholders.
• Maintain high-quality workmanship and Data Center cleanliness.
• Follow safety, quality standards, codes and best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
• Read blueprints and building documentation; manage redlines as needed.
• Understand Data Center infrastructure technologies broadly.
