Job summary

AWS Data Centers are expanding their Network Infrastructure Design & Deployment (NIDD) team. We are seeking a proven SME to design and plan copper and fiber networks, cabling pathways, and related standards for scalable, high-availability data center infrastructure.

The successful candidate will create detailed pathways, drive process improvements, manage planning phases, and coordinate with engineers, vendors and site teams; US citizenship plus TS/SCI clearance required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of critical data center equipment.
• 5+ years of data center or mission critical facilities experience.
• Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments while meeting deadlines.
• Strong analytical skills and effective communication abilities.
• 5+ years developing design documentation for construction or permitting.
• 5+ years with fiber optic components, cabling and interconnect products.
• 5+ years marking building design sets using Bluebeam Revu or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Develop ICT pathway, cabling and equipment designs with construction/ permitting specs.
• Review and approve ICT pathway, cabling and equipment submittals.
• Identify risks and respond to high-priority issues quickly.
• Support new technology and design activities to improve infrastructure quality and reduce costs.
• Travel to review projects and coordinate with onsite personnel and contractors.
• Conduct QA audits and implement corrective actions at project sites.
