Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. The Data Center Construction Manager will lead construction projects for Amazon data centers, collaborating with Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning to deliver quality on time and within budget.

You will be on-site daily, driving cost, schedule, and quality while coordinating with multiple vendor teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience carrying new design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production.
Experience in MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems.
Experience with power management and power monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

Direct interface with construction general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and closeout phases.
Negotiate with general contractors and evaluate bids with detail and accuracy.
Create construction project scope and requests for proposals.
Perform financial analysis of construction.
Manage construction projects for initiatives increasing data center resiliency.
Review constructability of electrical and mechanical designs for new or optimized data centers.
Manage construction documents including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and invoicing.
Ensure construction project quality control.
Record and report key construction metrics to team members and management.
Lead teams to troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis of equipment failures.
