Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced Virtual Design and Construction BIM Designer to develop federated BIM models for AWS Data Centers.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and influence design documents through coordination, clash detection, and constructability reviews. You will use Revit and Navisworks to maintain standards, create detailed models, and support information exchange across internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities, especially data centers
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Structural, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 2+ years of experience with Autodesk Revit and BIM coordination, 3+ years of producing construction drawings for mission critical facilities
• Experience with Navisworks
• Experience with Autodesk Forma or ACC (Autodesk Construction Cloud)
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
• Knowledge of commercial or industrial power systems or mechanical systems
• Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
• Experience using a variety of web-based and other software tools for calculation and data processing
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

Responsibilities

• Be self-motivated and work within the BIM Design group as well as within other teams.
• Update and modify existing models, studies and construction documents as required.
• Assist with creating, maintaining, and enforcing BIM templates and standards.
• Audit project deliverables and monitor quality.
• Lead design coordination meetings with other trades for clash detection and resolution.
• Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical locations.
• Assist the project team with information exchange processes between internal and external customers.
• Provide coordination support for information requests during construction phases.
• Recording and reporting of key metrics to management.
• Travel to Data Center sites for engineering evaluations and surveys as required.
• Be positive and always offer creative, out of the box solutions.
