Job summary

Capital Electric is seeking a proactive Business Development Manager – Data Center to own the data center vertical across assigned territory in the United States. You will hunt for early-stage opportunities, map relationships, and position Sonepar/Capital Electric as the preferred distributor with data center owners, developers, operators, and design/build teams.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of B2B sales or business development experience in electrical distribution, mission-critical power, data centers, or related construction verticals.
• Proven track record of hunting new business and building relationships at the C-suite and procurement level.
• Existing network within the data center ecosystem in the target geography is a significant advantage.
• Strong understanding of data center power infrastructure and the design/build process.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify, track, and map data center projects in assigned territory using proprietary tools and reports.
• Collaborate with executive and regional leadership to identify opportunities and drive market share.
• Build and maintain a real-time project pipeline with owner/developer details and timelines.
• Develop relationships with data center end-users and key influencers.
• Position Capital Electric early in design/specification phase through programs and agreements.
• Serve as the central point between end-user and branch network for seamless execution.
• Collaborate with leadership and DataCenter BD Team.
• Attend key industry events to expand network and gather intelligence.
• Achieve quarterly and annual revenue, project capture, and pipeline targets.
