Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker's SEF team is seeking an Application Engineer for Data Centers. This remote-enabled role partners with hyperscalers, EPCs, OEMs, and data center integrators to engineer and qualify fastener and automation solutions.

You will design-in and specify SEF products, lead joint development, and support field rollouts from design review through installation, while collaborating across Sales, Engineering, and Marketing to deliver total cost of ownership advantages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in application engineering or technical sales of fasteners/engineered components.
• Experience selling or specifying data center projects (construction/electrical/infrastructure).
• Working knowledge of mechanical joint design, fastener selection, torque/tension, corrosion, and vibration behavior.
• Reading drawings; 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable in customer-facing settings.
• Program management: multi-project coordination to a schedule; cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office for analysis, reporting, and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Be the technical voice of the customer in the data center market and inside SEF.
• Own customer-facing technical relationships with data center builders, EPCs, OEMs, and related suppliers.
• Lead design-in, qualification, and field rollout of SEF fasteners and automation.
• Provide technical evidence during design reviews and trials for customer approval.
• Collaborate across SEF and broader organization with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing.
