Job summary

Southern Company Gas seeks a Data Architect II/Data Catalog Engineer to design, implement, and maintain the data catalog, ML repositories, and AI catalog, enabling self-service data assets across the enterprise. You will collaborate with stakeholders from Gas Technology Solutions and EDGE to ensure data quality and governance.

The role requires extensive experience with data catalog and metadata management platforms (Erwin, Alation, Unity Catalog, Collibra), and strong SQL, Python, and cloud

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data management, metadata governance and data governance artifacts.
• 7+ years with enterprise data catalog platforms (Erwin, Alation, Unity Catalog, Collibra).
• 5+ years implementing data governance policies, standards and procedures.
• 5+ years conducting data governance assessments and data quality audits.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain data catalog and metadata repositories.
• Partner with stakeholders to enable trusted and discoverable data assets.
• Ensure data quality, governance, security, and regulatory compliance across environments.
• Develop data lineage, classification, and governance workflows.
