• Knowledge of dimensional modeling and slowly changing dimensions.

Data Business Systems Analyst Job in Omaha, Nebraska

Akkodis is seeking an experienced Data Business Systems Analyst to serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and the data platform engineering technical teams responsible for delivering the data platform. This role is responsible for eliciting, documenting, and validating the business requirements that drive the design of curated, consumption-ready data objects in the Gold layer of our medallion architecture. The BA develops deep expertise in how data originates in source applications, how it flows and transforms across the platform, and the business logic, rules, and definitions that govern it. Pay/Salary Range: $60.00/Hour to $80.00/Hour. The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Required Skills:

• Experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role on data warehouse, analytics, or data platform initiatives.
• Proficiency in SQL (DBT) for data profiling, exploration, and validation across large datasets.
• Demonstrated experience writing data requirements, source-to-target mappings, business rules, and acceptance criteria.
• Hands-on experience with data testing/reconciliation between source systems and curated/reporting layers.
• Strong facilitation, interviewing, and written documentation skills; able to drive alignment across stakeholders with competing definitions and priorities.
• Working knowledge of data modeling concepts (dimensional modeling, normalization, keys, slowly changing dimensions).

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Lakehouse/medallion architectures (Bronze/Silver/Gold) and platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, and Azure.
• Familiarity with BI and semantic-layer tools (e.g., Power BI) and how upstream design decisions affect reporting.
• Experience with data catalog, lineage, or governance tools (e.g., Unity Catalog, Alation, etc.).
• Experience in construction, engineering, or project-based industries and their core systems (ERP, project controls, HR, estimating, equipment, safety).
• Agile delivery experience (Scrum/Kanban) and tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
