Job description

Akkodis is seeking a Data Engineer for our client based out in Washington DC.

Pay Range: $70‑$80/hr on W2 without benefits. The pay may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 8+ years of professional experience in data engineering, data integration, or related technical disciplines, including 3+ years in a leadership or senior capacity.
  • Proven experience designing and developing data pipelines, data transformations, and end-to-end data workflows.
  • Hands‑on experience with relational and non‑relational databases and modern data storage technologies.
  • Ability to document data flows, data dependencies, and technical processes to support business process analysis and system architecture.
  • Experience supporting data‑intensive environments such as analytics, research, financial systems, or regulatory platforms.
  • Strong experience with ETL/ELT frameworks and programming languages used for data pipeline development such as Python, SQL, R, Scala, or Perl.
  • Understanding of data governance, data quality, metadata management, and access control frameworks.
  • Experience collaborating with business analysts, enterprise architects, and cross‑functional teams to document current‑state and future‑state data architectures and processes.
  • Ability to support data modernization initiatives and migration from legacy data environments.
  • Experience working in Agile, hybrid, or iterative development environments, delivering incremental solutions with cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving abilities.
