Job summary

Synechron, a global consulting firm, seeks a Data Architect with Oracle DBA and data modeling expertise to design scalable enterprise data solutions for financial services clients.

You will translate complex business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical data models, guide DBAs, optimize performance for high‑volume systems, and support reporting, ETL, and data governance.

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect with strong expertise in database architecture, enterprise data modeling, Oracle database design, and database administration. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing scalable data solutions for enterprise applications, preferably within the Financial Services, Payments, Banking, or FinTech domain.

This role will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, developers, and data teams to translate business requirements into robust conceptual, logical, and physical data models. The successful candidate will also provide DBA guidance for high-volume transaction systems, database performance, reporting, integration, backup and recovery, and capacity planning.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Pittsburgh, PA/ Dallas, TX is $110k - $120k/year & benefits (see below)..

The Role
Responsibilities:
  • Work directly with business stakeholders to understand requirements and business processes
  • Identify domains, sub-domains, entities, relationships, and business rules
  • Convert business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical data models
  • Design scalable OLTP database schemas for high-volume transaction systems
  • Design reporting and analytics data models.
  • Define data architecture for Transactions, Fees, Expenses, Merchant Onboarding, Settlement, and Funding
  • Design data integration and ETL strategies
  • Optimize databases for millions of records and high-volume data processing
  • Design partitioning, indexing, archival, and data retention strategies
  • Support reporting, batch jobs, scheduled jobs, and downstream consumers
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, product owners, and business teams
  • Provide DBA guidance for performance tuning, query optimization, backup, recovery, and capacity planning
