We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst / Data Analyst with strong experience in data processing, analytics, testing, and big data technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing business requirements, transforming and validating data, developing scalable data solutions, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of analytical outputs.

The Role
Responsibilities:
- Gather, analyze, and document business and data requirements.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, developers, and QA teams to understand business needs and deliver data-driven solutions.
- Perform data analysis, data profiling, and data validation across multiple sources.
- Develop and maintain data processing scripts and analytical solutions using Python and PySpark.
- Work with large datasets within the Hadoop ecosystem.
- Use Scala for data processing and application development where required.
- Create and execute unit, integration, regression, and data validation tests.
- Develop automated test cases using pytest and other relevant automation testing tools.
- Validate data pipelines, transformations, reports, and analytical outputs for accuracy and completeness.
- Identify data quality issues, investigate root causes, and coordinate with technical teams for resolution.
- Prepare functional specifications, data mapping documents, test plans, test cases, and user acceptance criteria.
- Support user acceptance testing and assist business users in understanding analytical results.
- Monitor application and data pipeline performance and recommend improvements.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and status meetings.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and documentation to communicate insights and project progress
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Experience in a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Data Quality Analyst, QA Analyst, or similar role.
- Strong programming experience in Python.
- Hands‑on experience with PySpark for distributed data processing.
- Experience working with Hadoop and related big data technologies.
- Knowledge of Scala, preferably in a data engineering or Spark environment.
- Experience writing automated tests using pytest.
- Experience with automation testing tools such as Selenium, Robot Framework, Cucumber, JUnit, TestNG, or equivalent.
- Understanding of software testing concepts, including:
- Unit testing
- Integration testing
- Regression testing
- End-to-end testing
- Data validation and reconciliation
- Strong understanding of SQL, data structures, data transformation, and data quality concepts.
- Understanding of NoSQL concepts, including:
- Key-value, document, column-family, or graph data models
- Schema design and data modeling
- Data partitioning and indexing
- Replication and consistency
- Query optimization
- Handling structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Apache Spark and Spark SQL.
- Knowledge of Hive, HDFS, Kafka, or other Hadoop ecosystem technologies.
- Experience integrating NoSQL databases with Spark or Hadoop platforms.
- Experience with ETL/ELT processes and data warehouse concepts.
- Knowledge of cloud‑based NoSQL services such as Amazon DynamoDB, Azure Cosmos DB, or Google Cloud Bigtable.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Experience with Git and version‑control practices.
- Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
- Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman or REST Assured.
- Experience with Jira, ALM, or Azure DevOps.
