Job summary

Sony's Enterprises seeks a Data Application Developer to design, build, deploy, and support full-stack enterprise applications on Databricks with Azure integration. You will work with governed data assets, SQL endpoints, APIs, and AI services to deliver forecasting, planning, and operational workflows.

Role requires collaboration with Data Engineering, BI, and business teams, and includes coordinating offshore support to scale capability and delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in full-stack application development or related software engineering roles.
• Strong hands-on development with Python and JavaScript/TypeScript for production delivery.
• Experience consuming governed data assets, SQL endpoints, APIs, authentication services, and enterprise pipelines.
• Experience on Databricks, Azure Databricks, data warehouses, and lakehouse platforms.
• Ability to design usable workflows, input forms, and operational decision-support tools.
• Strong SQL skills and understanding of KPI logic, data models, and audit needs.
• Experience with secure patterns, RBAC, authentication, auditability, logging, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Ability to translate ambiguous business needs into practical applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and support end-to-end enterprise applications on Databricks and Azure.
• Build Databricks-native or integrated apps using Unity Catalog-governed data, Databricks SQL, dashboards, and APIs.
• Develop apps for reporting, forecasting, planning, and operational workflows.
• Create user interfaces for planning inputs, forecast overrides, scenarios, and approvals.
• Integrate apps with Azure services, Entra ID, Azure DevOps CI/CD, REST APIs, and Power BI.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, BI, analytics, and business teams on requirements and KPI logic.
• Implement secure write-back with validation, audit trails, and versioning.
• Develop reusable components, templates, and deployment patterns for enterprise delivery.
• Provide production support including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and adoption improvements.
• Oversee offshore development resources and ensure quality control.
