The Division of CommunityEngagement at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) is seekinga dynamic, collaborative, and highly organized Data and TrainingCoordinator to support and advance the university's efforts todocument, analyze, and communicate the breadth and impact ofcommunity engagement across VCU. This position is ideal for anindividual with experience working in a higher educationenvironment, particularly with faculty, and an understanding of thesystems, processes, and collaboration required to implementinstitution-wide initiatives.
The successful candidate will possess strong communication, projectcoordination, and technical skills, with the ability to leveragedata to inform decision-making, highlight institutional engagement,and develop meaningful reports, dashboards, and datavisualizations. An appreciation for community engagement and thevalue of partnerships across teaching, research, service, clinicalpractice, creative activities, and institutional collaboration isessential.
The coordinator's primary responsibility will be to support theimplementation and university-wide adoption of Collaboratory, VCU's web-based platform for documenting community engagement andpartnerships. The coordinator will work collaboratively withfaculty and staff to facilitate training, provide technical anduser support, promote consistent data collection and reporting, andcontribute to the successful implementation of this institutionalinitiative. In addition, the coordinator will support broaderDivision initiatives through project coordination, communications,training, data reporting, and operational support.
The ideal candidate will be a connector and datastoryteller—someone who understands that documenting partnershipsis not just about systems but about supporting people in tellingtheir stories and making their work visible. This individual shouldbe comfortable navigating academic environments, curious aboutdifferent forms of engagement, passionate about building a cultureof reflection and recognition around community partnerships, aswell as managing the data entry and management details necessary tomaintain a living, growing database. While the coordination ofCollaboratory will be a major and ongoing responsibility, this roleis fundamentally about strengthening the systems and relationshipsthat allow VCU faculty and staff to more fully document and assesscommunity partnerships.
Up to $65,000 commensurate withexperience
