Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) is seeking a Data and Training Coordinator within the Division of Community Engagement to support documentation, analysis, and communication of campus partnerships. The role focuses on implementing Collaboratory and building campus-wide capacity for data-informed reporting.
You will train faculty and staff, develop dashboards, and deliver accessible data narratives that highlight impact across teaching, research, service, and clinical activities at VCU.
Unit: Office of Provost
Department: Division of Community Engagement
The Division of Community Engagement at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) is seeking a dynamic, collaborative, and highly organized Data and Training Coordinator to support and advance the university's efforts to document, analyze, and communicate the breadth and impact of community engagement across VCU. This position is ideal for an individual with experience working in a higher education environment, particularly with faculty, and an understanding of the systems, processes, and collaboration required to implement institution-wide initiatives.
The successful candidate will possess strong communication, project coordination, and technical skills, with the ability to leverage data to inform decision-making, highlight institutional engagement, and develop meaningful reports, dashboards, and data visualizations. An appreciation for community engagement and the value of partnerships across teaching, research, service, clinical practice, creative activities, and institutional collaboration is essential.
The coordinator's primary responsibility will be to support the implementation and university-wide adoption of Collaboratory, VCU's web-based platform for documenting community engagement and partnerships. The coordinator will work collaboratively with faculty and staff to facilitate training, provide technical and user support, promote consistent data collection and reporting, and contribute to the successful implementation of this institutional initiative. In addition, the coordinator will support broader Division initiatives through project coordination, communications, training, data reporting, and operational support.
The ideal candidate will be a connector and data storyteller—someone who understands that documenting partnerships is not just about systems but about supporting people in telling their stories and making their work visible. This individual should be comfortable navigating academic environments, curious about different forms of engagement, passionate about building a culture of reflection and recognition around community partnerships, as well as managing the data entry and management details necessary to maintain a living, growing database. While the coordination of Collaboratory will be a major and ongoing responsibility, this role is fundamentally about strengthening the systems and relationships that allow VCU faculty and staff to more fully document and assess community partnerships.
Salary Range: Up to $65,000 commensurate with experience
Benefits: All full-time university staff are eligible for VCU’s robust benefits package that includes comprehensive health benefits, paid annual and holiday leave, generous tuition benefits, retirement planning and savings options, tax-deferred annuity and cash match programs, employee discounts, well-being resources, abundant opportunities for career development and advancement, and more.
