Job summary

Office of the State Auditor in Raleigh is seeking a Data Analytics Intern to learn how data transforms into actionable insights for audit and oversight. You will build Power BI dashboards and support analysts with targeted data analyses to inform decisions.

The Spring 2027 internship offers hands-on experience on the Data Analytics Team, with an on-site placement at the Raleigh headquarters and an hourly rate for compensation.

Qualifications

• Rising junior, senior or graduate student majoring in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a related field with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Experience with Excel and Power BI (or similar data visualization tool)
• Experience with SQL and/or Python preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop interactive dashboards and visualizations using Power BI.
• Transform raw data into actionable insights for audit and oversight activities.
• Assist in targeting analyses to identify trends, anomalies, and KPIs.
