Job summary

State of North Carolina - Office of the State Auditor is seeking a Data Analytics Intern for Spring 2027 in our Raleigh headquarters. You will gain hands-on experience transforming data into insights for audit and oversight activities, building Power BI dashboards, and supporting analyses that identify trends and KPIs.

The role requires rising junior/senior or graduate student status in statistics, math, data analytics, or related fields with a 3.0+ GPA, plus experience with Excel and Power BI;

Qualifications

• Rising junior, senior or graduate student majoring in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or related field with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Experience with Excel and Power BI (or similar data visualization tool).
• Experience with SQL and/or Python preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist on projects transforming raw data into actionable insights for audits.
• Develop interactive dashboards and visualizations using Power BI.
• Support targeted analyses to identify trends, anomalies, and KPIs for decision-making.
