Job summary

The North Carolina Office of the State Auditor is seeking a Data Analytics Intern to gain hands-on experience transforming raw data into actionable insights for audit and oversight activities. You’ll develop interactive dashboards using Power BI and assist with targeted analyses to identify trends and KPIs.

You will work at the Raleigh headquarters, applying Excel, SQL, and Python to real-world projects, with an emphasis on visualization best practices to support decisions by stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Rising junior, senior or graduate student majoring in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a related field with a minimum 3.0 GPA
• Experience with Excel and Power BI (or similar data visualization tool)
• Experience with SQL and/or Python preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Develop interactive dashboards and visualizations using Power BI
• Perform targeted analyses to identify trends, anomalies, and KPIs for audit
