Job summary

Goldbelt Professional Services is seeking a Data Analyst I to provide data management and analytic expertise for the Epidemiology Research and Innovations Branch (ERIB).

Responsibilities include data source preparation, coding, statistical analyses, and support for publications, with collaboration across project teams and partners. The role supports CDC response activities and site visits as needed.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in public health or quantitative field with 1–2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency with SAS, R, Python for data analysis.
  • Experience with data management systems.
  • Experience following government procedures and guidelines.
  • Ability to obtain CDC Public Trust Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Apply data management and analytic expertise to administrative and other data sources.
  • Create and submit SAS or code in other languages for data manipulation, reports, and cleaning.
  • Develop SAS/R code for statistical and epidemiological analyses, including regression models.
  • Support dissemination of findings by preparing tables and charts for publications.
  • Develop data dictionaries and management documents with principal investigators.
  • Assist with acquisitions and renewals of administrative data sources via data use agreements.
  • Communicate with internal and external project leaders and partners.
  • Develop and maintain project databases, SharePoint sites, Teams, and visualization tools.
  • Collaborate with scientists and program consultants in project development and evaluation.
  • Participate in meetings, conferences, and site visits for communication and protocol standardization.
  • Contribute to CDC response activities and training exercises as directed by DHQP Team Lead.

Goldbelt Professional Services specializes in providing expert resources for Public Health missions including scientific, technical, and administrative support from junior staff to high-level subject matter experts. Research and data driven, Goldbelt Professional Services' experts create solutions customized to the client's needs.

Summary

Goldbelt Professional Services is seeking a Data Analyst I to provide data management and analytic expertise support for the Epidemiology Research and Innovations Branch (ERIB).

Responsibilities
  • Apply data management and analytic expertise to administrative and other data sources, including AR Lab Network, NNDSS-CPO, and electronic healthcare data.
  • Create and submit documented SAS code or code in other languages/platforms (Decipher, Spark, R, SQL/Databricks) for quality control, data manipulation, standard reports, and cleaning.
  • Create and submit SAS/R code for statistical and epidemiological analyses, including frequency analyses, 2x2 analyses, and regression models.
  • Facilitate programming and data management leading to scientific publications; prepare tables and charts.
  • Develop data dictionaries and management documents with principal investigators.
  • Aid acquisitions and renewals of administrative data sources by developing request packages, use agreements, and research approvals.
  • Communicate with internal and external project leaders and partners.
  • Develop and maintain project/product databases, SharePoint sites, Teams, and visualization tools.
  • Participate with scientists and program consultants in project development and evaluation, including literature reviews.
  • Participate in meetings, conferences, and 1-2 site visits for communication and protocol standardization.
  • Participate during CDC response activities and training exercises under direction of the DHQP Team Lead; duties include staffing the EOC desk to help support CDC's mission.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge
  • Knowledge of the principles, concepts, methods, and techniques of public health research and evaluation to analyze, evaluate, and provide expert advice and consultation.
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, applications, and state-of-the-art technology in the position's scientific area of responsibility to provide direction and guidance on critical and complex issues.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing to make clear, convincing presentations.
  • Knowledge of the rules, procedures, and principles that govern intramural and extramural program development, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Highly proficient in using Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint).
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making; capable of working independently with ability to multitask successfully.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication in interpersonal exchanges.
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree plus 1-2 years of relevant work experience in a relevant public health or quantitative field.
  • Highly proficient in using various statistical software (SAS, R, Python, etc.)
  • Knowledge of data management systems and application of data management software.
  • Previous experience working with the government procedures and guidelines.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CDC Public Trust Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, or related field.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience providing public health data analysis and manipulating, cleaning, and reporting data using a variety of statistical functions.
  • Prior experience working with the CDC is highly desired to understand the culture and environment.
Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $80,000.00 to $90,000.00 annually.
