Job summary

Goldbelt Professional Services seeks a Data Analyst II to provide programmatic and scientific support to CDC SMEs on studies related to healthcare infections and antibiotic stewardship.

In this role, you will analyze diverse health data, develop data docs, and contribute to publications. The position includes data platforms like Databricks, IRB coordination, and opportunities for manuscripts.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree plus 3-5 years of relevant work experience in a public health or quantitative field.
  • Proficiency in SAS, R, Python, etc.
  • Knowledge of data management systems and software applications.
  • Experience with government procedures and guidelines.
  • Ability to obtain CDC Public Trust Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Apply analytic expertise to electronic health data sources (Premier, Truveta, Medicare, MarketScan, NHSN, etc.) to examine HAI and antibiotic stewardship questions.
  • Conduct quality control and manipulation of databases; generate standard reports; perform data quality reviews and cleaning.
  • Create and submit code (PySpark, R, Python, SAS, SQL) and use platforms (Databricks, 1CDP, Virtual Research Data Center) for analyses.
  • Support dashboards, tables, charts, and data visualizations for scientific communications and publications.
  • Develop data dictionaries, data management plans, and analysis plans; document analytic methods and results.
  • Support data systems per best practices, IT, and records-keeping regulations.
  • Develop data request packages and IRB approvals for new data sources or renewals.
  • Co-author up to two scientific manuscripts per year.
  • Participate in meetings, site visits, and webinars; assist CDC response activities.

Summary

Goldbelt Professional Services is seeking a Data Analyst II to provide programmatic and scientific technical assistance to CDC SMEs on the execution of studies relating to healthcare infections and antibiotic stewardship.

Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions
  • Apply analytic expertise to work with electronic health data sources (Premier Healthcare Data, Truveta, Medicare claims, MarketScan, NHSN, and national/state inpatient data files) to examine HAI and antibiotic stewardship questions.
  • Conduct quality control and manipulation of databases, including merging, managing, and updating data; generate standard reports; perform data quality reviews and editing/cleaning.
  • Create and submit code (e.g., PySpark, R, Python, SAS, SQL) and use platforms (e.g., Databricks, 1CDP, Virtual Research Data Center) for complex querying, data exploration, manipulation, and statistical/epidemiological analyses.
  • Facilitate programming and data management for dashboards, tables, charts, and data visualizations contributing to scientific communications and publications.
  • Develop data dictionaries, data management plans, and data analysis plans; document analytic approaches, methods, and results.
  • Support data systems in accordance with best practices, information technology, and records-keeping regulations.
  • Support new acquisitions and renewals of healthcare data sources by developing data request packages and scientific research approvals (e.g., IRB).
  • Co-author up to two (2) scientific manuscripts for publication per year.
  • Participate in and/or coordinate virtual or in-person meetings, conferences, 1-2 site visits, and/or webinars.
  • Participate during CDC response activities and training exercises under direction of the DHQP Team Lead; duties include staffing the EOC desk to help support CDC's mission.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge
  • Knowledge of the principles, concepts, methods, and techniques of public health research and evaluation to analyze, evaluate, and provide expert advice and consultation.
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, applications, and state-of-the-art technology in the position's scientific area of responsibility to provide direction and guidance on critical and complex issues.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing to make clear, convincing presentations.
  • Knowledge of the rules, procedures, and principles that govern intramural and extramural program development, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Highly proficient in using Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint).
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making; capable of working independently with ability to multitask successfully.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication in interpersonal exchanges.
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree plus 3-5 years of relevant work experience in a relevant public health or quantitative field.
  • Highly proficient in using various statistical software (SAS, R, Python, etc.)
  • Knowledge of data management systems and application of data management software.
  • Previous experience working with the government procedures and guidelines.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CDC Public Trust Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD plus 5+ years of relevant work experience in a relevant public health or quantitative field.
  • Prior experience working with the CDC is highly desired to understand the culture and environment.
Pay And Benefits
