Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, or related field.
  • 1-2 years of public health data analysis experience and data manipulation/ reporting.
  • Proficient in R and/or Python; knowledge of SAS is a plus.
  • Experience with data management systems and applicable software.
  • Experience with government procedures and ability to obtain CDC Public Trust Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Medical Product Safety Branch with a multidisciplinary team.

  • Perform data analysis of large datasets using R and/or Python; attend trainings as needed.

  • Participate in CDC response activities and EOC staffing under DHQP Team Lead guidance.

Research and data driven, Goldbelt Professional Services' experts create solutions customized to the client's needs.

Summary:

Goldbelt Professional Services is seeking a Data Analyst II to provide data analysis support for the Medical Product Safety Branch (MPSB).

Essential Job Functions:
  • Support the Medical Product Safety Branch, working with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Develop analytic plans for research studies using large, relational administrative datasets to address medication safety questions and inform digital quality measures.
  • Perform data analysis of large datasets using R and/or Python, attending trainings on new programming languages as needed.
  • Translate SAS code to R.
  • Serve as an analyst, independently or as part of a team, on public health programs, projects, and studies.
  • Provide consultation support on program standards, policies, strategies, goals, and evaluation plans.
  • Participate during CDC response activities and training exercises under direction of the DHQP Team Lead; duties include staffing the EOC desk to help support CDC's mission.
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of the principles, concepts, methods, and techniques of public health research and evaluation to analyze, evaluate, and provide expert advice and consultation.
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, applications, and state-of-the-art technology in the position's scientific area of responsibility to provide direction and guidance on critical and complex issues.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing to make clear, convincing presentations.
  • Knowledge of the rules, procedures, and principles that govern intramural and extramural program development, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Highly proficient in using Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint).
  • Excellent judgement and decision-making; capable of working independently with ability to multitask successfully.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication in interpersonal exchanges.
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, or related field.
  • 1 - 2 years of experience providing public health data analysis and manipulating, cleaning, and reporting data using a variety of statistical functions.
  • Professional working knowledge of R and/or Python is required.
  • Knowledge of data management systems and application of data management software.
  • Previous experience working with the government procedures and guidelines.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CDC Public Trust Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, or related field.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience providing public health data analysis and manipulating, cleaning, and reporting data using a variety of statistical functions.
  • Prior experience working with the CDC is highly desired to understand the culture and environment.
Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $90,000.00 to $100,000.00 annually.
