Job summary

All Chicago MHH is seeking a Data Analyst to join the HMIS team in Chicago. The role focuses on administering HMIS, creating reports and data extracts, training users, and providing technical assistance across the CoC.

You will work with partners to understand requests, develop specifications, verify data, and support data-driven decision making. This full-time, exempt role offers a hybrid/remote schedule with a salary range of $51,261 to $69,836.

Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant work experience or a college degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics or related field
• 1 year of experience in report design and implementation using tools such as MS Excel templates with VBA macros, Python scripting, Microsoft SSRS Report Builder, BusinessObjects Web intelligence, or equivalent tools
• Experience defining and performing quality assurance tasks including testing and validation of results
• Expert knowledge/skills with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access
• Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server databases and query language
• Experience with a Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) is preferred
• Excellent communication skills; ability to convey information in a clear and concise manner
• Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage changing priorities
• Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment
• A strong work ethic, integrity, and the highest ethical standards are expected

Responsibilities

• Create reports, data extracts, and visualizations for HMIS
• Document requirements and technical specifications for solutions
• Develop data sources, tables, programs, and data flows to support reporting
• Verify and validate data sources and transformations
• Produce report mock-ups and test plans
• Maintain data dictionary and catalog of reports and data requests
• Train users on reports and data extracts
• Collaborate with Help Desk to resolve issues with reports and data visualizations
• Support production data loads, transformations, and report distribution
• Stay informed on Data Standards and HMIS-related topics
