Job summary

All Chicago MHH is seeking an HMIS Reporting Specialist to join the Homeless Management Information Systems team in Chicago. You will create reports and data extracts, maintain reporting tools, and provide technical assistance to the CoC community.

Help ensure timely, accurate data for community decision making. The role emphasizes data quality, documentation, and training of internal and external users, with a hybrid remote/in-office schedule in Chicago.

Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant work experience or a degree in Information Systems, CS, Data Analytics, or related field.
• 2 years of experience in report design and implementation using tools such as SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence, Microsoft SSRS Report Builder, or equivalent
• Experience in defining and performing quality assurance tasks including mass testing and validation of data results
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server databases and query language
• Experience with HMIS preferred
• Excellent communication skills; ability to convey information clearly
• Self-motivated with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Proven flexibility and ability to work independently and in a team
• Strong work ethic, integrity, and ethical standards
• Passion for inclusivity and diversity

Responsibilities

• Develop report and data extract requests by meeting with partners and staff.
• Document requirements and create technical specifications for solutions.
• Verify data sources and transformations; validate results.
• Produce report mockups and testing plans; maintain data dictionary.
• Maintain catalog of reports and requests; update for HUD Standards.
• Assist with federally/state funded program reports (e.g., HIC, PIT, LSA, ESG/CAPER).
• Pursue ongoing training to improve skills and knowledge.
• Provide training to internal and external users on reports and data extracts.
• Monitor helpdesk requests and perform reporting tool administration.
• Stay current on data standards, HMIS changes, and CoC data usage.
