OSF HealthCare is seeking a Data Abstractor RN to collect patient data, analyze abstracts for specified quality measure populations, and conduct retrospective and concurrent medical record reviews. You will maintain internal and external databases and ensure accurate, complete data entry while applying measure requirements and clinical workflows.

The role supports quality improvement initiatives and may involve periodic onsite work in Peoria, IL, with some travel.

Formación

• Experience with electronic medical record systems.
• Ability to interpret clinical data and terminology.
• Knowledge of quality measures and registries preferred.
• RN license in good standing required.

Pay range for this position is $31.67 - $47.47/hour. Actual pay is based on years of licensure. This is a Salaried position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Data Abstractor RN is responsible for collecting information, analyzing and completing abstracts related to patients within specific quality measure populations. Conducts retrospective and applicable concurrent medical record reviews. Maintains internal and external databases, ensuring all appropriate data is entered in a timely manner. Maintains understanding of both measure requirements and clinical workflows to ensure accuracy and completeness of information. Identifies opportunities for both process and quality improvements and serves as a subject matter expert in organizational quality improvement initiatives. Provides clinical knowledge, expertise and guidance to non-RN abstractors.

MORE INFORMATION:

This position is a hybrid schedule where majority of the time will be working remotely from home. Candidate must live near an OSF facility. On site work in Peoria, IL, may be minimally required from time to time per department need. Travel to Michigan may be periodically required. This nurse may also be expected to communicate with patients by phone or electronically. Please inquire within for more information.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

• Working knowledge of electronic medical record systems
• Ability to interpret clinical data and understand clinical procedures and terminology

Licensure/Certification:

• Current state license registration as an RN

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

• Epic experience Prior experience working with clinical quality measures and registries
• Previous surgery experience preferred
• Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)
• Awareness of the principles and fundamentals related to Performance Improvement
