Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan ISD 196 seeks a licensed Developmental/Adaptive Physical Education (DAPE) Teacher (1.0 FTE) for Deerwood Elementary and .5 FTE Black Hawk Middle School. You will lead a specialized PE program for students with disabilities and/or significant delays, aligning with district best practices.

Gain opportunities to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, develop IEPs/Behavior Support Plans, and promote equitable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Licensed by the Minnesota Department of Education in Developmental/Adaptive Physical Education.
• Experience with diverse cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Ability to develop IEPs and Behavior Support Plans.
• Experience with students aged birth through 21 in school settings.
• Ability to collaborate with nursing staff and paraprofessionals.

Responsabilités

• Teach the district curriculum while aligning with DAPE best practices.
• Lead a specially designed physical education program for students with disabilities.
• Develop culturally responsive practices for equitable outcomes.
• Support students with emotional regulation difficulties.
• Provide instruction to develop social emotional skills.
• Collaborate with staff to support students in the least restrictive environment.
• Advocate for students to ensure high achievement.
• Promote communication with parents and professionals.
• Carry out responsibilities as defined by the master contract.
