Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking candidates for a summer internship in its Damage Prevention Organization. The paid internship offers hands-on experience, opportunities to present to senior leadership, and collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the Gas organization.

Typical responsibilities include financial review and reporting, damage prevention investigations, excavator outreach, and data updates. The program runs with flexible in-person hybrid work, starting May 24, 2027.

Qualifications

• Current student enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, and/or MIS/Computer Science/ Data Analytics.
• Driver License and personal vehicle.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) and part-time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week) with in-person attendance per hybrid policy.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the monthly financial review/reporting process.
• Assist with Damage Prevention Investigations.
• Excavator outreach and education.
• Assist with updates, data maintenance, and analysis.
