Job summary

McMillen, Inc. is seeking a Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our team in supporting civil design for dams, embankments, fish passage facilities, fish hatcheries, and other water resources projects.

The position is available in-person or hybrid, with up to 25% travel. You will work under project managers, applying geotechnical methods, preparing reports, conducting investigations, and providing design input to multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical, Geological, or Civil Engineering required.
• P.E. license or eligibility required.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in geotechnical investigations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute subsurface geotechnical investigations.
• Perform geotechnical modeling and analysis using industry standard software.
• Provide design recommendations for foundations, slopes, retaining walls, and embankments.
• Perform dam safety inspections for existing dams.
• Develop project-specific design criteria using relevant codes and standards.
• Collect, review, and organize historical project data, including drawings and reports.
• Prepare geotechnical data and design reports for multidisciplinary projects.
• Communicate with multidisciplinary teams to interpret geotechnical conditions.
• Collaborate with Design Technology staff to prepare drawings.
• Perform construction monitoring and QA on active sites.
