Job summary

Schnabel Engineering in Seattle is seeking a mid-level Civil Engineer with a structural emphasis to join our dam engineering team. You will contribute to the design, analysis, and assessment of dams, spillways, gates, and hydraulic structures while collaborating with civil, geotechnical, hydraulic, and mechanical engineers.

The role requires 5+ years of civil engineering experience, a PE, and proficiency with FEM and CAD tools.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited program required.
• 5+ years of civil engineering experience with emphasis in dam design or dam safety.
• Licensed Professional Engineer and ability to obtain reciprocity.
• Experience in design of dams, spillways, gates, and related hydraulic structures.
• Knowledge of state and federal dam safety design methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural engineering tasks across all project phases for dams and related hydraulics structures.
• Prepare construction drawings and technical specifications.
• Develop structural models using finite element software (SAP2000, Risa 3D, Staad.PRO).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and CAD designers; travel may be required.
• Support field work and office coordination across Schnabel offices.
