Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc. is seeking a structural engineer to join the dams, hydropower, and water resources team. You will prepare calculations and design documents for hydraulic structures, coordinate with project teams, and support site data collection.

The candidate should have an ABET‑accredited degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience; EIT is preferred. Strong communication, knowledge of California Building Code, ASCE 7, and familiarity with RISA 3D, SAP2000, and AutoCAD are desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil, structural or architectural engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• At least two years of structural engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare calculations and design documents for hydraulic structures and other projects (dams, spillways, canals, pump stations, valve houses).
• Collaborate with project teams to prepare calculations, reports, specifications, plans, and schedules.
• Support condition assessments of existing structures and development of construction cost estimates.
• Visit project sites to collect data and monitor progress.
• Support construction administration during construction phases.
• Assist with client contact and communication for specific projects.
• Attend client meetings as needed.
