Job summary

Roofstock, Inc. is seeking a Property Accountant – Retail to provide full cycle accounting support for the property management team. You will communicate financial results to clients and management, handle ledgers, reconciliations, and monthly closes, and support auditors across multiple regions.

Responsibilities include distributing monthly reports, managing distributions, reviewing invoices, and ensuring capitalization policies are followed, while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred or equivalent.
• 3+ years of Real Estate Accounting experience.
• Public accounting experience is a plus.
• Proficient in Excel and Google Suite.
• High accuracy and attention to detail.
• Adaptability to changing environments and priorities.
• Strong planning, organizing, and time-management skills.
• Customer focus and ability to collaborate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily accounting functions for multiple regions.
• Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports per GAAP.
• Prepare weekly and monthly distributions to clients.
• Review and maintain accuracy of general ledgers.
• G/L activity posting and balance sheet reconciliation.
• Support managers with ad hoc projects and monthly closes.
• Monitor cash receipts, tenant billings, and ledger reconciliations.
• Review invoice coding for capitalization policies and payments.
• Coordinate with departments to ensure complete financial packages.
• Assist auditors with accounting details and responses.
• Research new accounting laws and state regulations as needed.
• Assist with annual 1099/1096 reporting and quarterly forms.
